LA UPMYS celebra su 13 aniversario con la primera Carrera 5KM 2025
LA CRUZ.- En el marco de su 13 aniversario, la Universidad Politécnica del Mar y la Sierra. UPMyS, realizó con gran éxito la primera edición de la Carrera 5K UPMYS 2025, con la participación de 93 corredores, en su mayoría estudiantes de los distintos programas educativos que ofrece la institución.
El punto de salida fue en el entronque del Libramiento La Cruz y el Boulevard Zoquititán, donde el banderazo inicial fue dado por el Doctor Luis Miguel Flores Campaña, en compañía del director del Instituto Municipal del Deporte y la Cultura Física, Cecilio Pío Mejía.
Desde ahí, los participantes recorrieron los 5 kilómetros hasta llegar a las instalaciones de la universidad, acompañados por un ambiente de entusiasmo, compañerismo y fomento a la actividad física.
La competencia se desarrolló en las ramas femenil y varonil, ambas en la categoría estudiantil.
Se otorgó una bolsa de premios en efectivo de 9 mil pesos, distribuidos entre los tres primeros lugares de cada rama:

Primer lugar: Luz Yaneysi Tapia, Licenciatura en Administración de Empresas Turísticas, 2 mil pesos
Segundo lugar: Evelyn Joselin López Caro, Ingeniería en Producción Animal, mil 500
Tercer lugar: Perla Viviana Tirado Ibarra, Médico Cirujano y Partero, mil pesos
Categoría Varonil
Primer lugar: Brayan Francisco Aguirre Cervantes, Lic. en Negocios Internacionales, 2 mil pesos
Segundo lugar: Quetzalcóatl Tirado Humarán, Médico Cirujano y Partero, mil 500 pesps
Tercer lugar: Luis Heriberto Cebreros Angulo, Ingeniería en Agrobiotecnología, mil pesos
Los primeros lugares lograron completar el recorrido en aproximadamente 30 minutos, demostrando un alto nivel de esfuerzo y preparación.
Las autoridades universitarias agradecieron el valioso apoyo de los cuerpos de auxilio y seguridad, incluyendo a Protección Civil, Tránsito Municipal, Seguridad Pública, Cruz Roja y Bomberos, quienes garantizaron la seguridad de los participantes a lo largo del trayecto.
Asimismo, se reconoció la colaboración del Instituto Municipal del Deporte, que respaldó el trabajo del Ángel Isaac Orozco Millán, jefe del Departamento de Deportes de la UPMYS, para la realización de esta actividad deportiva que fortaleció el sentido de comunidad y el espíritu universitario.
Con este tipo de eventos, la UPMyS reafirma su compromiso con la promoción del deporte, la salud y la convivencia estudiantil como ejes fundamentales para una formación integral.
